course Overview:

The two day lecture course in Emission Calculations and Data Reduction will include all materials identified in the RFP and allow attending students to meet the course objectives. The course will enable students to understand the relationship between source test results and emission calculations used for permitting. The class will consist of a combination of lecture and hands-on application examples. The design of the course is to understand the various stack test parameters and how they compare.

Class participants will review calculation methods such as percent moisture calculations, fuel factors, dilution factors and mass balance calculations. The course will employ the use of standard lectures with interactive use of handouts, text, and white board notation. The course will also use case studies of calculations and how these results are used for permitting. The course will focus on regulatory requirement but will also relate directly to real-world applications.
