Compressed Natural Gas Fuel System Inspector Training and Compressed Natural Gas Fueling Station Operation and Maintenance Training

NGVi is providing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Fueling Station Training and CNG Fuel System Inspector Training. NGVi will be offering the following courses at the Energy Resource Center in Downey, California.

  • November 18-19: CNG Fueling Station Operation & Maintenance Training
This two-day course provides complete, in-depth instruction on proven, "best practices" for natural gas fueling station operation and maintenance. This course will help maintenance technicians improve safety procedures and provide methods that will save time and money when maintaining natural gas fueling station equipment. It is for station maintenance personnel who need to develop and implement effective routine maintenance and safety plans. Attendees receive a certificate of course completion, upon getting at least 70 percent correct on the course exam. Registration fee: $695 through October 17 and $795 after that date.
  • November 20-21: CNG Fuel System Inspector Training
Formerly called the NGV Fuel Storage Cylinder Inspection Training, this two-day course focuses on teaching the proper techniques for inspecting on-board compressed natural gas fueling systems. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) states that on-board vehicle CNG fuel storage cylinders, manufactured after March of 1995, should be visually inspected every three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Participants will learn the proper methods to use to insure vehicle fuel storage safety and integrity. The training includes hands-on inspection of vehicle fuel cylinders. Registration fee: $695 through October 17 and $795 after that date. At the end of the Cylinder Inspection Course, attendeess may choose to take the CSA Certification exam for a fee of $375.

Leo Thomason, Executive Director of NGVi, will deliver the training. Leo has over 20 years of direct natural gas industry experience. His courses are known for being practical, loaded with information that can be applied, and for a style that de-mystifies complex technologies. Over 10,000 fleet professionals have attended Leo's training courses, giving them the highest possible ratings.
The training will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day at the Energy Resource Center, 9240 East Firestone Blvd, Downey, California.
