Regional Technical Center
- Fiscal Year 1999 Priorities

Approved by Directors
January 14, 1999

The following list is intended to guide the activities of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Technical Center Technical Committee during Fiscal Year 1999 as they develop proposals for regional activities and for using Regional Technical Center funds to help implem ent the national standards for ozone, fine particles, and haze. This list is not presented in order of priority.

a) Establish agreement on how we will work together--an organizational structure, division of responsibilities, and decision-making procedures.
b) Develop a multi-layer work plan including increasing levels of detail. (Something generic that each state could adapt, possibly with options for various levels of coordination.)
c) Organize an improved regional inventory of precursors for ozone, PM, and regional haze.
d) Conduct a scoping study regarding an ammonia inventory-what's available, what can be done to improve the data, what would it cost?
e) Look at potential regional and sub-regional episodes and recommend which could be used to get some consistency within the region.  OTC Website
f) Set up a common domain and modeling platform to the maximum degree possible.  OTC Website
g) Have a contractor prepare meteorological data inputs for selected episodes.
h) Work with EPA to facilitate modeling training.
