V. Emissions Recalculation and Control Analysis (2006) - OMNI
MARAMA hired OMNI to re-evaluate previous Residential Wood Combustion
survey data, develop a new emissions inventory, and conduct emissions
benefit and cost effectiveness analyses for Wood Combustion controls
in the MANE-VU region. Estimates of emission from residential wood
combustion are difficult, and some uncertainty always remains. This
report used different methods to estimate the amount of wood burned
then a previous report prepared by E. H. Pechan and Associates for
MARAMA. The MANE-VU states believe this estimate improved on the
previous one, though both have certain advantages.
IV. Statistical Analysis Project (2005) - NC State
III. Emissions Inventory Improvement Project (EIIP) Coordination Project
(2003) - OMNI
OMNI Consulting
Services, Inc. working under contract for the Mid-Atlantic Regional
Air Management Association (MARAMA), prepared this website as an
information resource for state, local and regional organizations
that are planning or conducting residential wood combustion (RWC)
surveys. Surveying is the method preferred by the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) for data collection in the development of
RWC emissions inventories. As part of this work, OMNI conducted
a national search to identify U.S. RWC surveys and coordinated a
conference call with an expert forum on the subject of RWC survey
methodology. It is hoped that this work will provide information
to improve RWC emissions inventories. This website contains a general
discussion on survey preparation as well as specific recommendations
for RWC survey contents.
II. Emissions Inventory Development Project (2002-2004) - Pechan
